When you get a chance, stop by AmateurDrammer.com. Great site. Good stuff.
And, by the way, the proprietor, Andy, so kindly added me to his “Desert Island Drams” series, asking me which dram I would prefer if stranded.
Too bad all of the participants in this particular series couldn’t be stranded together. With the selections noted by the others in the group, I guarantee the island would no longer be uncharted and we would probably need to issue visas and require passports to visit us.
Take a look… Angelsportion Desert Island Dram.
I began my appreciation, then adulation, then adoration of single malts in the late
1980s, and since then have sampled well over 250 whiskies of all types and from all
countries. However, after all that tasting, my desert island dram is still Lagavulin 16.
To my taste, it is a wonderfully chewy, complex dram which is complimentary to so
many foods, so many seasons, so many good and bad times. Its adaptability and high
quality make it the drink that would keep me sane on that island.
