A Good Whisky Is…

“A good whisky is…”

Well, I can’t really finish that sentence because it is somewhat subjective. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has a preference. AngelsPortion is the ongoing and evolving iteration of mine.

In the meantime, just know that I’ve enjoyed a large variety of whiskies, and in so doing, I have discovered phenomenal bottles that pinched my finances considerably, and yet I have acquired others for only a fraction of the costlier editions and I prefer them equally. To each his own. Still, I pray that my efforts will be of some use to you, if not only entertaining, as you paddle out into and tread within the vastness of the Whisky sea.

Come on, You are forgetting some very fine bottles. How about the Clan MacGregor, Grand Macnish, Lauders, Scorsby. Some of the finest, and in convenient screw top, shatter proof bottles, so that they may be enjoyed on the go!

    • Shawn, my good friend… I’d be happy to do a review of these particular whiskies…but, would we still be friends afterward? Peace to you, brother!

  2. I really enjoy your reviews and find that my tastes track similarly to yours, although you have tried many more scotches than I have. As you, I really wanted to like the Red Label Johnny Walker, but alas I do not. I received a bottle of Laphroaig for Christmas a couple of years ago and was put off a bit by the smoke. But as I worked my way through the bottle, I fell in love with the stuff. I am enjoying a Glenfiddich 18 as I type, however.

Keep up the good work and I hope to someday be able to have a dram with you (like if you were to go to an Issues, Etc. conference.)

“A good whisky is…” even better when shared and enjoyed with friends.
